Quiet the Chaos, Awaken the Magic.

Wintering, A Spirit Camp Retreat

This December, step away from the noise of the season and into a sanctuary of stillness. This is your invitation to pause, exhale, and return to yourself, far from the hustle and numbing of holiday demands. Surrounded by Mendocino’s towering redwoods and coastal fog, you’ll spend four soul-nourishing days in community, guided practices, and quiet reflection, releasing what weighs you down and rekindling your inner flame. Together, we’ll breathe, dance, howl under the full moon, and remember the power of being fully present with Spirit and with ourselves.

It’s time to quiet the noise.

The noise in your head, in your heart, from the chaos of the world at large, to the wounds creeping into your world within.

Our society does not winter well.

We seek to numb or escalate the noise to drown out the pain.

Shopping, planning, gathering, drinking, expectations, celebrations, over-indulgence. We go out of our way to go out of our bodies instead of listening to the invitation of the season–stillness, silence, cozy blankets, roaring fires, books, cocoa, napping, diving deep within.

Why do we allow this to happen?

Tradition, for one, but the other, more difficult truth?

To mask our acute discomfort with our own quiet.

It’s so much “easier” to go with the flow. To lean into the faux-tidings of merriment and joy, the busy-ness, when underneath your own personal flame is nearing extinction.

But not this year.

This year we’re doing something different.

This year, we are going to set ourselves free.

Free to listen deeply, to be able to give true merriment and joy from a full cup and a full heart, and to remain spacious enough inside ourselves to receive the abundance of the true essence of the season, the peace and love available to us all when we dare to connect with Spirit and the truth of our own magic.

Join me once again (or for the very first time!) at Spirit Camp deep in the redwoods of Mendocino, California.

From Thursday, December 4th through Sunday, December 7th, we will gather in loving kinship with coastal fog and the towering redwoods of Mendocino, California. We’re going to presence and release individual and collective grief, wounding, and patterns, and learn to sit comfortably, beautifully, and sometimes messily but still perfectly in stillness.

We will celebrate our wins, barbarically yawp our pain, breathe, dance, meditate, celebrate, and howl under the full moon together.

We will practice holding our vessels open long enough to find and fill ourselves up with only the truest nourishment for our souls.

This year our time together will be guided by the wisdom and principles of the Divine Feminine, the knowingness that it is Darkness itself that makes vision possible; that our Desire is to be trusted; that our Anger informs us, and Humility is our greatest strength.

We will practice embodying Her truths:

I am beloved

I am a body AND a soul

My body never lies.

We will learn how to listen and trust.

And no, you don’t need to be a She/Her to attend.

Our planet can’t heal unless we bring the Divine Feminine into balance with the Divine Masculine and we can’t do that without the help of our healing and beloved men. This year, once again, we will be welcoming one and all.

The Whens and Wherefores:

You can plan to arrive at Spirit Camp anytime after 2pm on Thursday, 12/4/2025. We’ll be ready for you! You can settle into your personal space, walk the trails and grounds, and meet us for afternoon tea and snacks at 2pm. Please plan to arrive no later than 3:30pm in time to begin our work together in earnest in The Sanctuary at 4pm.

We will end with a brunch at noon on Sunday, December 7th before we send you on your way.

Spirit Camp is about 160 miles north of SFO and Oakland airports. You will need about 3.5 hours to drive up there from either airport, so plan accordingly. If you are traveling from a distance, as many of you are, I and my magical community might be able to help you with ride shares and accommodation on either end of your journey so please do reach out.

Your time at Spirit Camp is all-inclusive. It includes three nights and four days of shared lodging in rustic luxury. There are a few single rooms available for a premium should you desire one. There will be a total of nine organic vegetarian meals and all the snacks, coffee, and tea you might need in between (See “Why Vegetarian?” below). We will accommodate all dietary needs with proper notice.

Our working time together will consist of circle/group time, guided meditation, journaling, embodied movement, breathwork, sound healing, and 1:1 heart-seat style coaching or an Akashic Record (past life) reading.

Jason Cusson will be leading a daily morning outdoor meditation practice again this year

And I have a few other delightful surprises for our time together!

Silent mornings continue! We are going to ask you to rise (the “and shine” part is optional) and stay inward each morning until we gather for breakfast, when you can feel free to giggle and squee and have all the catching-up fun.

I’m also going to try my hardest to build in some quiet reflection each afternoon, but please, for the love of God, don’t make me pinky-swear on this one. I have a lot to say, and we have a lot of shit to move!

The Exchange: $2888

The Whyfores:

Why Spirit Camp? Spirit Camp is the actual name of the Mendocino venue itself–the magical space we will be occupying for our time together. Also, it’s a pretty stinkin’ cute name!

Why vegetarian only? Spirit Camp is a designated vegetarian facility. The agreement is no meat in the kitchen, period. Eggs and dairy are permitted and will be served. There will be non-lacto-ovo options available if eggs and dairy aren’t your thing, but the agreement is no alcohol and no meat. If you bring your beef/turkey/salmon/chicken jerky into your own space, please don’t tell me about it, and don’t get caught, m’kay? But do leave the booze and other mind-altering substances at home. I promise to get you buzzy, warm, and fuzzy in other ways!

Why are you making me be quiet? Because I am a mother of small children and my greatest desire in life is to drink my morning coffee in silence. I can’t control my children, but I can control you. Muah ha ha ha! Actually, no. No, I can’t. But I can invite you into a practice of silence, of listening with your whole being to all of the information available in and around you. I want to offer you the space to turn inward and be. And it’s only every morning until breakfast. You can do it!

Why no price increase? It’s costing me more this year, but I know this work is SO DEEPLY NEEDED. Truth be told, I’ve yet to profit from hosting my fall retreat and I likely won’t be profiting this year either. Nevertheless I want to keep it luscious and beautiful. I want organic food, expert practitioners, a cozy and expansive setting, and delightful take-home goodies. It’s as low as I can go and still get it paid for.

What are the delightful surprises? They wouldn’t be a surprise or nearly so delightful if I told you, but I’ll give you some clues. The retreat center itself is much more spacious both in terms of grounds and gathering spaces, and I know some really magical people. We may have some guest-stars!

Further questions? Reach out! I’m happy to hop on a call with you.

With so much love and excitement,

Dana (and Jason, too)

Each moment, each breath we take, is a chance to begin anew. Let’s die a thousand deaths together and joyously be born again into greater wholeness.
